Decoupling Regional Economic Growth from Industrial CO2 Emissions: Empirical Evidence from the 13 Prefecture-Level Cities in Jiangsu Province

Amid global climate warming, it is necessary to explore the decoupling relationship between economic growth (EG) and industrial CO2 emissions (ICEs). This paper uses Tapio model logarithmic mean Divisia index (LMDI) synthetically analyze EG ICEs reveal driving force of (CEs) based on ICE panel data from 13 prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu province 2011 2015. From research results, can be seen that status southern Jiangsu, middle northern presented weak (WD), negative (WND) WD, respectively. In 2011–2013, seven exhibited states strong (SD) occurred only Zhenjiang, with a value −0.3359. 2013–2015, five WD. The energy intensity carbon emission had inhibitory effects ICEs, development structure positive promotion ICEs. results have important theoretical practical significance for future savings, reductions realization low-carbon economy Jiangsu.
